01 About
Civil engineering · BIM · Code
BIM is more than a planning tool. In the current DB Infrastructure strategy it has become the foundation of a fully digital asset lifecycle — from strategy and planning through construction to operation, maintenance and reinvestment. That intersection is where I work: where model-based planning has to translate into reliable operational data — and where “build digitally first, physically second” becomes the operational standard.
In large rail infrastructure projects of DB Region East, I led model coordination, EIR, CDE workflows and quality assurance across the owner, design partners and contractors. My focus: models that are not just geometrically clean, but that carry through as a coherent information basis for every downstream phase — construction, handover into asset operation, digital twin, lifecycle analytics.
I see myself as a civil engineer with deep BIM expertise who coordinates interfaces and solves problems — not as a tool specialist. Methods and software are means to an end. When standard tools fall short, I build my own. What matters is measurable impact: continuous data chains instead of broken handoffs, faster alignment, stronger schedule reliability, and trustworthy information across the entire asset lifecycle.
02 Skills
03 Experience
BIM coordination on infrastructure and rail projects. Integrating point clouds, orthophotos and 3D meshes into BIM/CAD workflows; quality assurance of discipline models and interface coordination across planning, surveying, construction supervision and the client side.
Responsible for BIM implementation across Region Ost — rolling out the BIM strategy on infrastructure projects, producing BIM Execution Plans (BAP) and Employer’s Information Requirements (AIA), contributing to group-wide BIM standards. Training, workshops and knowledge transfer across the organisation.
BIM coordination on rail infrastructure projects. Federated-model assembly from discipline models, clash detection and model analysis; toolchain included Korfin, Desite MD, Revit, Civil 3D, BIMcollab.
Supporting the BIM manager on the Ebensfeld – Erfurt BIM pilot. Attribute, model and clash checks in Desite MD; working with the EPLASS common data environment.
Design and analysis of reinforced-concrete structures, trusses and retaining walls with STAAD PRO and AutoCAD.
B.Sc. Civil Engineering completed at SRM University.
04 Projects
Selected rail infrastructure projects I’ve worked on as BIM Coordinator, BIM Overall Coordinator and BIM Manager — Berlin/Brandenburg corridor and station programmes.
Corridor
General overhaul of the 280-km line into a high-performance corridor. Nine-month full closure 2025/2026 bundling renewal of tracks, switches, stations and signalling.
Station
Complete rebuild of the passenger and freight station at the Gigafactory in Grünheide. Extended 220-m platforms, opening up the Freienbrink industrial site, capacity for ~16,000 passengers per day.
Bridge / Overpass
Replacement of the nearly 100-year-old railway bridge. Carries the Ringbahn over the U6 at a strategic south-Berlin arterial with connections to the A100 and B96.
Operations Center
Expansion of the S-Bahn operations control centre in Berlin-Halensee — centralised dispatch of the entire Berlin S-Bahn network with ESTW/ZBS interlocking, around 3,000 train runs a day, critical infrastructure.
Corridor · i2030
i2030 corridor North-West: double-tracking Velten – Neuruppin, S-Bahn extension to Velten with a new Hennigsdorf Nord stop, full electrification Hennigsdorf – Wittenberge.
Station
Modernisation of Berlin-Westend station on the Ringbahn — accessibility upgrade, bridge replacement nearby, platform and access renewal.
Corridor · i2030
Reactivation of the historic Stammbahn from Griebnitzsee to Potsdamer Platz as a double-tracked, electrified regional line, plus expansion of the southern Berlin Innenring to relieve the north-south main line.
S-Bahn Expansion
New north-south S-Bahn line through central Berlin: Nordring – Hauptbahnhof – Potsdamer Platz – Yorckstraße – potentially Südkreuz. Section 1 (line S15) entered service June 2026.
Station
Station on the Berlin Northern Railway at the edge of the Berlin outer ring — interchange between S-Bahn and regional services, modernisation of the station and turning facilities.
Station · Bridge
New railway bridge over Wollankstraße in Berlin-Pankow. Bridge replacement and noise protection for the S1 and the regional/long-distance line heading north.
05 Tools
Alongside the rail infrastructure work, I build tools that make BIM workflows faster and more transparent — from an AI assistant to a browser-based 3D model viewer.
Custom GPT · BIM
A custom ChatGPT GPT I built for BIM workflows — an on-demand assistant for questions on IFC, openBIM, clash detection and BIM coordination practice.
Web · 3D
A from-scratch 3D BIM viewer in the browser — React, Three.js and a custom pure-JavaScript IFC/STEP parser. Orbit controls, model tree, visibility toggles, section clip plane and a properties panel.
